और राज्य में ‘शांति बहाली’ के लिए यहां पर स्वर्ण मंदिर में अरदास भी की।
फरवरी में मुख्यमंत्री बनने के बाद पहली बार यहां आने वाले केजरीवाल ने संवाददाताओं को बताया, ‘‘यह दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण और पीड़ादायक है। ऐसा लगता है कि यह उन लोगों द्वारा जानबूझकर किया गया जो राज्य में शांति भंग करना चाहते हैं।’’ केजरीवाल यहां पवित्र ग्रंथ का अपमान किए जाने के विरोध में फरीदकोट में हुए प्रदर्शनों के दौरान पुलिस की गोलीबारी में मारे गये दो सिखों के परिवार वालों से मुलाकात करेंगे।
केजरीवाल ने कहा कि पवित्र ग्रंथों के अपमान की घटनाओं के पीछे वास्तविक दोषियों को गिरफ्तार करने की जिम्मेदारी पंजाब सरकार की है। उन्होंने कहा कि किसी भी निर्दोष व्यक्ति को ‘झूठे मामलों’ में नहीं फंसाया जाना चाहिए।उधर दिल्ली में डेंगू का प्रकोप जारी है और प्रदेश के एक लाख सफाई कर्मियों की हड़ताल के कारण सडकों पर कूड़े के ढेर जमा हैं

Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal today said some farmers’ unions were playing “petty politics” and misguiding masses over issues related to crop growers in the state.
“It is painful that some farmers’ unions are politicising the issues related to crop growers for petty gains,” he said while referring to the two-day rail blockade by the peasant’s outfits which started today.
On the issue of purchase of fake pesticides, the Deputy Chief Minister said, Punjab government has already ordered a high level probe headed by an ADGP-level officer in this regard and that the guilty would not be spared.
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is most worried about the plight of farmers and always works for their betterment, he said after attending the ‘Barsi Samagam’ of Tejinderpal Singh Makkar, son of Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Jathedar Avtar Singh here.
Parkash Singh Badal is the first Chief Minister of the country who has given maximum benefits to the farmers, the Deputy CM claimed.
“Though the extent of loss to cotton crop due to white fly attack in Punjab was less as compared to Haryana and Rajasthan, the state has paid maximum compensation to the farmers,” Badal said.
It was due to Punjab CM’s efforts that the compensation amount for damaged cotton crop has been increased from Rs 3,000 per acre to Rs 8,000 per acre, which is much more than the compensation given by other states, he said.
The Deputy CM gave clean chit to the Agriculture Minister over pesticide row, saying the demand for Tota Singh’s resignation by farmers and Congress was politically motivated and that there was no need for it.

पार्टी द्वारा संगठन विस्तार के तहत गत 20 अगस्त से पंजाब जोड़ो अभियान की शुरूआत की है
पार्टी की इस मुहिम को जनता की तरफ़ से ज़बरदस्त समर्थन मिला और मात्र 5 दिन में ही रिकाॅर्ड 16 लाख 50 हज़ार लोगों ने पार्टी की सदस्यता ग्रहण की। पार्टी द्वारा जारी एक विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार इस सदस्यता अभियान के लिए पार्टी ने ज़मीन से लेकर तकनीक का इस्तेमाल किया।
राज्य इकाई की तरफ़ से सदस्यता ग्रहण करने के लिए एक मिस्ड काॅल नम्बर जारी किया गया था और पार्टी कार्यकर्ताओं की तरफ़ से पूरे राज्य में तक़रीबन 3500 जगहों पर स्टाॅल लगाकर लोगों को पार्टी की सदस्यता दिलाई गई । विज्ञप्ति के अनुसार साढ़े तीन लाख लोगों ने मिस काॅल के ज़रिए डिजिटल तरीक़े से पार्टी की सदस्यता ली और 12 लाख 90 हज़ार लोग स्टाॅल से पर्ची कटाकर पार्टी के सदस्य बने।

In the wake of attack by suspected terrorists in Gurudaspur today, Home Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and assured him full central assistance to tackle the situation.
The Home Minister said the central government is monitoring the situation and he was confident that the situation would be brought under control.
Singh also spoke to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and Union Home Secretary L C Goyal and reviewed the situation in Gurudaspur where 3 to 4 suspected terrorists wearing Army uniforms opened fire at a bus and attacked a police station early today leaving at least seven persons injured.
NSG commandos are also likely rush to Punjab.In a suspected terror attack, gunmen wearing army uniform today went on a rampage attacking a bus, a health centre and a police station, leaving five persons, including a policeman, dead and several injured in Gurdaspur district of Punjab.
Earlier Indian Army has launched an operation against the militants numbering about five who are holed up in Dinanagar police station complex.
The assailants also targeted a building where the families of police personnel reside and threw grenades.
According to police, the mayhem started at about 5 AM when the attackers first targeted a roadside eatery and took off in a car after killing a person who was sleeping near Dinanagar bypass.
They also targeted a Bus And a community health centre adjacent Dinanagar police station, in which a policeman and three civilians including a woman who were present in the premises were killed.
The gunmen entered the Dinanagar police station and opened fire on policemen there in which five policemen were seriously injured.
They then targeted other part of the building where the families of police personnel reside.

पंजाब में कांग्रेस के पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह ने विवादित संगठन ‘सिख फॉर जस्टिस’[एसऍफ़जे] द्वारा अमेरिकी एटॉर्नी जनरल से अपने खिलाफ की गयी एक शिकायत में लगाए गए आरोपों को खारिज किया है। एसएफजे ने उनपर उन पुलिस अधिकारियों को बचाने और बढ़ावा देने का आरोप लगाया है जिनके खिलाफ मानवाधिकारों के उल्लंघन की शिकायतें हैं।
कैप्टेन अमरिंदर ने एक बयान में कहा, ‘‘मैं इस शिकायत को खारिज करता हूं क्योंकि यह केवल सस्ता प्रचार पाने के उद्देश्य के दायर की गयी है।’’ उन्होंने कहा, ‘‘बेहतर होता कि उक्त संगठन ने उन अधिकारियों के नाम का उल्लेख किया होता जिनको मैंने बचाया और बढ़ावा दिया।’’ पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि पूरा पंजाब पुलिस आतंक के खिलाफ लडाई लड़ रहा है।
कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता ने एसएफजे के आरोपों का उपहास करते हुए कहा, ‘‘क्या वह यह कहना चाहता हैं कि मुझे पूरे पुलिस बल को बख्रास्त कर देना चाहिए था।’’ अमरिंदर ने कहा, ‘‘इसके अलावा मुझे पूछना है कि क्या अमेरिकी सरकार अपने देश में शांति सुनिश्चित करने के लिए आतंकियों पर कार्रवाई नहीं करेगी?’’ उन्होंने कहा कि यह शिकायत पूरी तरह से प्रेरित है और कुछ निहित स्वाथरें और पंजाब के राजनीतिक पार्टियों के इशारे पर की गयी है जो उन्हें अमेरिका जाते नहीं देखना चाहते।
अमरिंदर ने कहा, ‘मुझे दोहराने दीजिए कि कुछ भी हो जाए मैं उत्तरी अमेरिका के अपने दौरे पर जाउंगा।’’

today directed all senior civil and administration officials to observe punctuality in office and resolve maximum public issues on the spot.
Dy CM passed the directions during a grievance redressal programme here, asking the administration officials to ensure maximum sittings in their offices so that the public issues could be resolved.
He asked the heads of government departments to personally deal with complicated issues.
